May Day Fete
Into the smooth, green circle of May, Spring Time dances. Descending the throne,
she carefully examines the work of her chosen subjects,
to be sure that there shall be nothing to disappoint her guests.
Finding everything lovely she beckons the Herald to announce
the coming of the Queen and her court,
Spring welcomes her Queen and guests, leading them to a
beautifully prepared throne, where the crowning of the Queen takes place.
Spring then signals for the court entertainment to begin.
Much to her surprise, Spring sees Jack Frost, an unvited guest,
dancing gaily among the crowd. Hurrying over, she pleads with him to go away.
When Jack Frost departs. Spring is happy again and the May Pole dancers,
Rosebuds, Grasshoppers, Fairies, Butterflies and Rainbows are ready to
dance before their new Queen.
